White
Bison |
|
The Bison were synonymous of life for the people that lived on the immense plains of North America and for this reason there was a great respect for this animal and a deep indissoluble bond. On the "medicine" wheel, the White Bison occupied the direction towards the North, a place of wisdom and renewal from which it acquired the color of snow and winter. According to tradition, Lakota, the spirit of the Bison, was incarnated by a white woman, and it gave the Indians the Sacred Pipe so that they could learn to honor and pray to the Great Spirit.
